A green screen is used in film production to create visual effects and composite different images or footage together. By filming actors or objects in front of a green screen, the green color can be digitally removed in post-production and replaced with a different background or environment. This technique allows filmmakers to place characters in fantastical or impossible settings, or to create scenes that would be too expensive or dangerous to film on location. Green screens are also used for weather reports on television, where the meteorologist stands in front of a green screen and the weather map is digitally added behind them. **
